EMA sponsored a tour of DC Water’s Blue Plains Advanced Wastewater Treatment Plant during last week’s Water/Wastewater and Automatic Controls Symposium in Bethesda, Maryland. 55 symposium attendees piled on a big tour bus for a scenic drive through portions of Bethesda and the District of Columbia en route to Blue Plains. Once we reached the facility, we were given an excellent overview of the Blue Plains Distributed Control System. Then we toured the main control room and the CAMBI Thermal Hydrolysis Process (THP) treatment area. We avoided the rain, and everyone enjoyed the event! Many thanks to ISA for organizing the tour, and to the DC Water team for being excellent hosts.
